Order forms were sent home previously.  If you did not receive an order form please contact the school office.

All proceeds from the fundraiser go toward supporting school initiatives for all students.

Order forms will be available at our Winter Bazaar as well.

Poinsettia's will be delivered to the school on December 14, 2018.

Our QSP campaign has started and the packages were sent home last week.  All orders are due October 10, 2017.

QSP Spring Fundraiser Campaign

School Council is pleased to offer our Spring Fundraising Campaign in conjunction with QSP. 

All students will be receiving a QSP fundraiser package to take home  tonight.  All proceeds will go toward fundraising for the following items at school:

• Updating the Learning Commons
• Adding hands on materials to our Maker Space
• Adding new technology for each classroom
• Scientists in the School Workshops

Our New Whiteboard Tables in the Makerspace

Fundraising at JVPS goes towards supporting many exciting initiatives at our school.  We are currently raising money to help us create a Makerspace in our new Learning Commons.  We have recently purchased some whiteboard tables for students to use.

This week, our grade 7 and 8 students were using the whiteboard tables to record their thinking when problem solving in math.  

Problem solving is an important component of the math curriculum at all grade levels. Students enjoy and use math when the concepts they learn make sense to them. Investigating problems builds students’ understanding of concepts. It also allows students to apply their math skills in everyday situations. In your child’s math classroom, students:

·       tackle math problems that are appropriately challenging

·       explore many different approaches to solving problems

In the pictures below you will see our intermediate students:

- using a graphic organizer to help problem solve

- working in groups and teams to solve a problem

- making their thinking visible 

- engaging in a gallery walk to record their feedback on the tables

- having fun while doing math

All snacks are a toonie except the goldfish which are  currently selling for a loonie.

All proceeds go towards funding school initiatives directly linked to our school improvement plan such as:

Fundraiser Information

School Council Fundraiser

Our School Council will be starting the first fundraiser for the year.  We will be having an introductory assembly for the students this Wednesday, November 9 and the fundraising packages will be going home Wednesday at the end of the day.  Parents will have lots of options to choose from.  Parents can order magazines, cookie dough and other items before the holidays.

All monies raised directly impacts learning at our school so every order helps.  Funds raised will go towards the following school initiatives to help support Literacy, science, math and modern learning:

• Scientist in the School workshops for each classroom
• Upgrades to our Learning Commons and Makerspace
• Increase Technology for classrooms

Students can earn prizes as well with each order and they can collect fun Emojis!!!!
