Dear Families:
We
are very much looking forward to having your child start the junior
kindergarten year with us at Johnsview Village P.S. In order to best support
your junior kindergarten child’s successful entry to the start of his/her
school career, the first day of school will be a HALF
day only in the morning. This year, the first day of school falls on September
6, 2016. In order to ensure that the first half day runs smoothly we would like
to give you the following information:

Your
child will attend school from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on September 6 only,
2016
·
Your
child can attend the before care program, if he/she is registered
·
After
care access will not be available for the first day as children MUST be picked up at 11:30 a.m.
·
Your
child will NOT ride the bus on September 6, as bus transportation is not
provided during the day
·
You
must make alternate arrangements to pick up your child from the school at 11:30
a.m.
·
Please
pick your child up from the kindergarten door.
Please note that you may drop off your
child at 8:45 a.m. (when supervision begins) in the kindergarten yard on the
morning of September 6, 2016. Please be prepared to say a quick goodbye in the
kindergarten play area.
Bus transportation for junior
kindergarten students will begin on Wednesday September 7, 2016 as will access
to the after-care program be available starting on September 7, 2016. All
junior kindergarten children will attend school FULL TIME/ALL DAY starting
Wednesday, September 7, 2016.
Parents will want to check out the
Student Transportation Services of York Region website (http://www.schoolbuscity.com/), including
information about a First Time Rider program that takes place in August and September
for any student who has never been transported on school bus, especially junior
kindergarten students.
