Yesterday the Junior Boys Basketball Team went to the York Regional Basketball Tournament. Twelve of the top teams in the region were there to compete for the championship. The competition was fierce and the boys rose to the challenge.
They went 1-1 in the round robin by playing great team defence. Both teams were playing for the right to advance. The boys won the game by playing hard and with great teamwork. With only 8 teams left the competition became even tougher. The boys played an undefeated team from Pierre Burton. After going down 11-2 the boys stormed back. They answered with a 20-9 run to end the game, but the other team hit a basket to tie the game and send it to overtime.
After a back and forth 3 minutes, the boys fell short of the semi finals and lost the game by 1 point. The hard work they put in and the way they supported each other made their coach proud.
