The Education Act states, “a pupil shall attend punctually and
regularly”(Regulation 262, Section 23).
At Johnsview Village P.S. we emphasize the importance of good
attendance and arriving at school on time to help students establish patterns
for success, now and in the future. We have many students arriving
late each day.
Students who arrive late disrupt classmates’ learning
and risk missing essential instruction.
School begins promptly at 9:00
am and students are expected to be in their classes prepared and ready to
learn.
If your child is late due to an appointment or unforeseen
circumstance, please call the office prior to 8:45 am to report your child's absence (905-881-3360).
Otherwise, please make any adjustments necessary to your morning routines to
ensure your child arrives at school on time.
As well, if your child will be absent, please call the office BEFORE 8:45
am. Only parents or guardians can call to report an absence. Students cannot report their own absence. If your child is absent for more
than 1 day in a row, parents or guardians need to call the office each day to report the
absence.
We are looking forward to working together with parents/guardians to ensure that all of our students are arriving at school on time.
