Day of Pink at Johnsview

We would like to thank all the students who wore pink on Wednesday April 13 for the International Day of Pink.

This day is when communities around the work unite to celebrate diversity and raise awareness about the need to stop discrimination and all forms of bullying.

The students at Johnsview participated in a wonderful assembly where they listened to a read aloud of the book, "Stop Picking on Me" by Pat Thomas.

In addition to the read aloud, the students watched  two skits about bullying and then a member of the audience was asked to join the skit and help resolve the problem.

During the day, the students also wrote on small pink T-shirts to describe how they would help others.  We clipped their thoughts on the T-Shirts to our large tree and you can see the tree in our front foyer. Here are some pictures.
