Kindergarten registration will commence on January 18, 2019 for the 2019-20 school year.
- turn four or five years old during 2019,
- live within the school boundary and
- whose parents are public school tax supporters
will be eligible to register for kindergarten. A kindergarten information session for parents is being planned for later this spring. For more information please visit the YRDSB website or contact your local school.

- Other documents required, If applicable:
- Direction of Tax Support form (required if property tax bill/municipal property assessment is not provided)
- Any assessments to support the student’s placement
- Staff Administration of Medication
- Self-Administration of Medication
- Medical Care Plan
- Any legal documents related to custody
The Kindergarten Parent/Guardian Questionnaire allows you to provide your school with specific information to support the transition to school. Your child’s Kindergarten educators will use the information you share to help to create an inclusive and welcoming transition to Kindergarten for your child. We appreciate all information that you are able to provide.
The Ministry EYE@K Questionnaire (Early Years Experiences at Kindergarten) will be offered to all families registering their child to Kindergarten for the first time. Answering the questions is voluntary. Responses gathered will help Regional planning tables coordinate and improve the programs and services for families and young children in the community. The Ministry has provided the survey in nine additional languages.

Find and bring these supporting documents (originals required) to the school office to register:
- Proof of child’s age (Birth Certificate/Passport)
- Proof of your child’s address - two documents, one from each of the categories below showing the home address;
- Category A - notice of tax assessment, current rental/lease agreement, agreement to purchase including proof of purchase provided before the pupil attends the school, or property tax bill, and
- Category B - utility bill, bank statement or other official document.
