Dressing for Winter Weather

During the winter months, it is very important for children to come to school appropriately dressed for snow, slush, wind chill and icy conditions. We encourage students to wear proper waterproof footwear, scarves, gloves and warm coats and snowpants. This is important for students of all ages for both safety and comfort. Students must plan and prepare for our winter weather!

Please discuss the importance of winter clothing and footwear with your child. An extra pair of socks and indoor shoes that fit are also important to keep feet warm and dry. As well, children must always be prepared to go outside for morning recess and lunch recess.

The school’s expectations are that students dress appropriately with all winter gear on BEFORE  going outside for recess,  as we want to reduce the number of  students coming back in to the building to find an article of clothing.

Only in severe conditions such as extreme cold, strong winds and snow storms, will outdoor activities be cancelled by the school Principal.
